YuMee~WaveWiFi Marketing Platform
FAQ

Questions, Answered

What WiFi hardware do I need?

YuMeeWave works with Ubiquiti UniFi: UniFi OS consoles such as the Dream Machine, Cloud Gateway or Cloud Key, or a self-hosted UniFi Network Application. The controller must be reachable from the internet, and we set that up with you. Controllers that can only be reached through unifi.ui.com are not supported. Twenty more brands, including Cisco Meraki, TP-Link Omada, MikroTik, Aruba and Ruckus, are built and are being tested on real devices. No UniFi yet? We can install it for you, on a separate quote.

How does setup work?

Our team does it. We point your UniFi guest network to YuMeeWave using a dedicated controller login, which we store encrypted, build your login page with your branding, and check it with you on your own phone before it goes live. Setup is included in the monthly price. If you need someone at your venue, contact us and we will agree it with you.

How much does YuMeeWave cost?

£89 per venue per month, plus VAT. That includes installation and setup, your first login page, support by email and phone, and every feature. On-site visits and network hardware or installation work are agreed with you separately: contact us.

How do I pay?

By Direct Debit through GoCardless, monthly in advance. We set up your account, and you set up the Direct Debit in your admin panel. You get advance notice of each payment, and payments are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Is there a contract? Can I cancel?

There is no long-term contract. You can cancel any venue at any time, on its own or all together, and it stays on until the end of the month you have paid for. Fees already paid are not refunded. We give 30 days' notice of any price change. The full terms are in our Terms of Service.

What do guests see?

When they join your WiFi, guests see your branded login page. They sign in with their email address, with one tap, or with an access code, accept your WiFi terms, and are online. Marketing is a separate, unticked box, so only guests who choose to hear from you are added to your marketing lists.

Who owns the guest data?

You do. You are the data controller, and we process the data for you under our Data Processing Agreement. You can export your guest list as a CSV file at any time. Data is stored in the European Union.

Is YuMeeWave GDPR compliant?

The platform gives you the tools: no guest record until the guest accepts your terms, marketing consent kept separate from the WiFi terms and recorded with date and time, a privacy notice on every WiFi page naming your business, unsubscribe links and STOP for texts, guest self-service deletion, automatic deletion 24 months after the last visit, EU hosting and a DPA. As the controller, you still need to use them correctly. Our GDPR Compliance page has a checklist.

Can I send SMS messages?

Yes. SMS campaigns and automations are sent through your own Twilio account, so Twilio bills you for messages directly. Texts go only to guests who opted in to marketing, and marketing texts sent from a phone number end with "Reply STOP to opt out".

Can I manage several venues?

Yes. Every venue has its own login page, guest list, settings and subscription, and you can copy settings and pages from one venue to others.

Can you install our WiFi or network too?

Yes. We survey the venue, install WiFi, cabling and network cabinets, secure the network with separate guest, staff and payment networks, connect your tills, card terminals and kitchen screens, and look after it afterwards. Network work is quoted separately, in writing, before we start.

Does YuMeeWave work with Yumee POS?

YuMeeWave works on its own with any till: it connects to your WiFi, not to your POS. Yumee POS is made by the same team, so if you want both, one team installs and supports them.

How do I get support?

Email support@yumeeservices.com or call 0330 122 7312 on UK working days. If you need someone at your venue, contact us and we will agree the details with you.
